FUNNY DAY

Let me share something….

…Weird day, weird day, funny day, the only day
…Weird day, strange day
…Forms of my music
…Runnin’ through my head

Wind blowin’
Grass flowin’
Rebirth coming
Expanding
Moving out
Like a chicken
He’s growin’ though his shell

Gonna bust it off
Gonna expand out
Fear
Powerless
Wet chick sitting in a new world

He ain’t the one
You know it’s better
He’s a new man
He’s a new thing

Birds flyin’
Air blowin’
Sun shinin’
Mountains
Lookin’ down on me
Suggesting things I never did see

Things I never thought
Things I never knew
Places I never been
People I never knew

I’m new
Reborn
Like a child
He’s just comin’ on

He’s lookin’ out
In a dark forest
These God-damn trees
Keep getting in my way

Gonna cut ’em down
Gonna level it out
Gonna burn it down
Gonna work this thing out

I’m just bein’ reborn
Like a chicken
Like a baby
Bustin’ out his shell

The shell of understanding
That surrounds my heart
It’s a thing that’s gotta go
It’s a thing that I can expand out of

A thing I’m gonna move out of
A thing I’m gonna work out of
I’m gonna wait here, I’m gonna wait here
I’m gonna wait here, I’m gonna wait here

The phone will ring
And everything
Will turn around
It’ll be different the next time

Be the same thing
The same thing
Be the same thing
Again next time

How many years
Must this go on?
Night and day, night and day
Night and day
It’s on and on

How many years
Must this go on?
Dark and light and night and day
How many years must this go on?

Confusion
Madness
The mind is makin’ up
What the spirits doin’

It’s fightin’, pretending
Fightin’, pretending, fightin’, pretending, fightin’, pretending

Fightin’
Resisting everything
Holding back, holding on
Bleeding finger nails
Letting go of things
That chain me down
They’re chainin’ me down

Holding me down
Like a chain, on a balloon
Cut it loose, rise a little
Holding me down, holding me down
Air blowin’ down through this place
My camp
……………..Hard times, waiting outside your door!

Ya know what?
I’m gonna make sense of this
One life
Eighty years
Gonna make sense of this
I’m gonna work it out
You know I will…

Gonna cut that chain, rise a bit
Cut another chain, gonna rise a bit
Cut ’em all loose, rise up through hell
Rise up through Hell
Rise up through the smoke

I’m gonna walk
North
With the earth and my mind
Gonna feel my skin
Feel this thing
Gonna work it out
Gonna work this thing out

Life is Short (music)

Life is short
She said

Life’s too short
He said

Too short to feel
Too short to wait

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me, my friend?

Life is short
She said
Wanna do what I wanna do
Don’t want to wait

Life’s too short
He said
Don’t wanna feel
Life’s too short
He said

Life too short
Too short to wait
Too short to suffer
Too short to love

Life is long
So, so long
So, so long
So long my friend

Life Can Be That Way

Life Can Be That Way

Take the L train
That goes uptown
Watching vagabonds
From your window seat
Ladies that used to be so fine
Pushing shopping carts
And drinking wine

Life can be that way

I don’t know….
Its white outside
All the things I feel inside
Want to make a call
Want to change my mood
Feelin’ on my fishing pole
Fishin’ for food

Life can be that way

Maserati dealer
Is wearing a shiny suit
Takin’ out his fishin’ pole
Fishin for food
Sheer walls
Endless towers
Sittin’ in the clouds high above

Life can be that way

CAMP ROBBER

Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal a diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal your diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring

Layin’ on floor, in the rose colored glass
Over by the door, where the bubble smashed
Threads on the latch, where the coat sleeve was torn
What’s left of my manhood, by the blood on the door

Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal a diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal your diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring

Walking downtown, to take in some air
Talking to a man at the bus stop there
“What you waitin’ on brother?”
I said to the street
“A camp-robber, I’m hoping to meet”

Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal a diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal your diamond ring
Hey Camp-robber
Baby steal this diamond ring

The One-Eyed Man

She did not come
As I’d hoped she would
As the evening hung
On the time and place I stood

The airport cried
With glazed and weary eyes
And all the girls I saw
Held up in the face of ice

She is not so different
From the girl that I once knew
She’s floating through horizons
Where the orange meets the blue

And she know the things I say
In the face of being blind
The blind search for the one-eyed man
Or whatever they can find

I am not going
Or coming around again
In these circles and marks
Layed down through my pen

The darkness hides the sorrow
It’s hung within my mind
The crime looks for the criminal
The one-eyed man looks for the crime

She is not so different
From the girl that I once knew
She’s floating through horizons
Where the orange meets the blue

And she know the things I say
In the face of being blind
The blind search for the one-eyed man
Or whatever they can find

Three Ravens

I saw three Ravens
Sitting on a fence
I saw three Ravens
Looking at me
What do they see?
What is she wanting now?
I saw three pirate ships coming my way

I saw three Ravens
Sitting on a fence
I saw three Ravens
Flying away
Does she want it?
What does she want?
I saw three pirate ships heading our way

I saw three Ravens
Flying beside
I saw three Ravens
Whats in their mind?
What’s she want?
What does she want from me?
I saw three pirate ships sailing our way

I saw three Ravens
Sitting on a fence
I saw three Ravens
Looking at me
Why does she want?
What’s she want this time?
I saw three pirate ships heading my way

I saw three Ravens
Sitting on a fence

THE PLAYER OF THE VOID

The Owl flies at night
Brings good luck to the player of the void

(Owl Song)

If you go where no man goes, you find what no man finds
He’s moving on like an Owl in the night, the player of the void

He sees at night, a diamond shining bright, the player of the void
He falls to the Earth, to kiss it on the lips, then soars back to the sky

You’re here I know, been here all my life, waiting by the door
To the land of the shining silver plain, on the other side

He knows his pain is the cracking of his shell, and faces night with day
To face the dark with faith and grace, to live the Passion play

He flies at night, the player of the void
And waits outside my door
