Enlightenment comes as a surge in particular instant.

True spiritual insight is only pertinent to the instant in which it occurs.

Following that moment the false self starts to try to capture the ghost and loses it all, save the trite intellectual currency that ego hoards to float in its barge of empty husks that make up image.

Willpower is about being able to hold opposites

“Willpower is about being able to hold opposites. So I can feel the emotion, I can feel the craving, and at the very same time, I hold my commitment to make a different choice. Your ability to hold those opposites is what gives people willpower over time.”

Excerpt 7

Superstition is the religion of fear.

To make up or subscribe to a set of fantastic beliefs and then to not question them out of fear is the basis of superstition. Being God fearing is the basis of most neurosis and unsuccessful living.

All anxiety comes from not facing your situation, and fear is no friend!

Excerpt 6

On the day a baby eagle is too large for the nest, it falls earthbound headlong wildly flapping its fuzzy stumps out of desperation.

Rites of passage are steps into the unknown and are characterized by finding out something about yourself hitherto fore unknown as a result of trying something you never tried.

Excerpt 5

Flying is a true relationship between an individual  being and the higher powers of the universe.

Big Eagles only seem to be flying around on days when the wind is 45 mph or so. I realized that this is because the bird weighs so much that it must have the air to lift it, unlike a small bird which can flap its wings.

The Eagle spreads its wings and the wind does the rest.

Excerpt 4

Excerpt 3

Fear is the fence at the edge of your universe.

It is your fear that limits you. The adventure you seek lies just over the fence of fear.

In that dark world beyond the edges marked by fear, you will face the voices that weaken you. It is at this point where it is imperative to keep your focus on the point of light in the midst of the dark.

This is Owl Medicine, to see at night a diamond shining bright.

Excerpt 2

He who goes where no man goes finds what no man finds.

It is scary and lonely to seek a personal version of universal truth. But no other version of truth will satisfy at full depth and no other path has heart.

Excerpt 1 – Finding your spirit

A warrior chooses to ask for [and then diligently allows] the powers to strip off the false layers to expose what may be hiding beneath.

Finding your spirit is painful and courageous. It is scary and painful to have your pathetic false veneer shredded off. It is also frightening to face the possibility that there may not be anything so wonderful beneath. It is tremendously honorable to finally decide to find out.

It’s better to know than not know.
